Which is a reason he is causing so much chaos in this music video. ![]() They must also not like him for no reason because he keeps saying “hate me now” as if he is trying to give the people who despise of him a reason to hate on him. The audience that Nas is referring to in this song is towards the people who obviously does not like him. His all red outfit also can be referring to the devil maybe, that was a person who never cared about anyone but himself. Nas also illustrated the fire behind as he walks down the street, the music also goes in beat with the fire, the lyrics go “ You can hate me now”, it looks as if he does not care about what is blowing up around him. So, the beginning of this song is relating to how Jesus was treated on his walk towards death. Now remember the title of the song is Hate me now and Jesus was hated by many Romans, but he did not care. There is a mix background of people who could be referred to as the “Romans”, they were shouting and yelling at Nas then the background would change to him standing in front a fire. Nas starts off the music video with his seamless robe all ripped and torn up. This music video caused a lot of controversy for Puff Daddy and Nas, Christianity is a very sensitive topic and for them to basically “recreate” Jesus’ walk towards death, even though it does get across a valid point that can relate to a lot of people who feel they are disliked just because they are doing well in life. This is a form of ethos because, he is showing an appeal to Christians ethics. Nas believes in the Lord Jesus Christ and this video is in no way a description or portrayal of his life or death….” Which once you start to watch the video, you see Nas walking down the street carrying a cross. Some were nailed to a cross, others tortured in life. many thousands upon thousands of men and women have been crucified for their beliefs, their convictions, their love and their… some have been guilty, some have been innocent. ![]() Nas starts his video off with him writing out a paragraph stating “ Since the first recorded crucifixion in 600 B.C. This music video is very controversial and can be very sensitive for certain people to see especially people who believe in Christianity.
